Twilight Saga

Okay, I'm a big nerd. I must first apologize to my husband for this last week. I have been so consumed with the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer that I haven't really done anything around the house. He's pretty much had to fend for himself. I haven't cleaned, I haven't cooked dinner (I have made him lunches in the morning, just to give myself some credit) and I haven't done any laundry. All of my free time between school and work (and sometimes at work) have been totally consumed with reading these books. I am obsessed! The weird part is that I DO NOT read. All though, I am going to start now. I've decided it's fun! It's kind of funny that I complained about having to wait at the airport because that's when I bought the book. I was sort of annoyed afterward because I didn't even read it while I was there (I decided watching movies on my computer would be a better way to spend my time) but I saw it sitting on my counter last week and decided that I really should read it since I spent the money on it. And I just assumed that it had to be good because so many people have dedicated spots to Twilight on their blogs. So, in about the span of a week, I read all 4 books, which I might add, have about 500-700 pages each! I am so proud of myself. Anyway, that's my newest excuse for being such a slacker at blogging.

I did get my consequence though now. I do have a TON of cleaning to do which includes probably 5 loads of laundry. I hate it when I do that to myself. Oh well, Twilight was worth it! I can't wait until the movie comes out, all though I am a little skeptical about it not being as good as the book, since that's usually the case, but oh well!

Guess what I got...

A

Well, I put my two weeks in on Tuesday because I decided that it was ridiculous that I wasn't making hardly any money, and it was a waste of time and gas to drive 30 minutes to make $2.13 an hour...so, I promised Josh that I would find another good job, quickly! I was really nervous because it usually takes me a while to find a good job, unless I know someone.

If you remember, I put up a post a little bit ago about being a nanny for a lady, well needless to say, I didn't get it. Bummer! But it actually worked out well. See, with that job, I would have had to do all of the lady's cleaning (from laundry down to scrubbing the toilets) everyday. That's really not that bad, but it's always a lot more fun to make the same amount of money doing a lot less, right? Well, good news! That's how it's worked out for me.

Two days ago, before I went to bed, I decided to check Craig's List for job opportunities as a last minute thing. I applied to one lady's post and then turned off my computer. Well, I forgot that I was waiting for an e-mail from a girl at school, so I turned my computer back on and checked my email and I already had a response back from the lady that I had responded to on Craig's List. She asked me if I would like to meet with her on Thursday (yesterday) @ 2:30 for an interview. I wrote her back right away and said yes!

So, I met with her yesterday, and I absolutely love her and her family. She has four kids, but all I'm really there to do is make sure when the kids get home from school that they do their homework before they do anything else and then to make sure they get their chores done. After that, I just take them to their after school practices for soccer, cheer and wrestling and that's basically it. There's no cleaning involved! And the best part is...if the kids are out of school for a holiday or something like that, the mom takes off of work, so I don't have to go into work...and she's going to pay me for all of the hoidays! She will also reimburse me for all of the gas expenses!

I really hit the jackpot! I am so very thankful for answered prayers and for friends and family that really care! This is exactly what I was looking for. I was really bummed when I didn't get the other job, but little did I know that I had a great thing coming! Now I can go to all of the church activities, which I've never really been able to do since I was in high school!

This also helps me a little bit with my calling. I think I did a post a little bit ago about how I was in Nursery and I was a little bummed because I wanted to have time to meet people in relief society before I got stuck for two hours all by myself. But, that worked out too! Such little faith I have sometimes, I know!

Anyway, I just thought you all should know that I will no longer look like I am inactive during the week, and only active on Sundays! That's so exciting. Yay, here come friends! (Don't worry Camie and Juan, you'll never be replaced! We're so excited to see you!)

Waiting at the airport!

Well, I unexpectedly ended up going to one of my best friend's wedding. Well, it's tomorrow morning. I am in Phoenix right now waiting to board. We were about to board but then they said that there was a maintenance issue with the plane, so now I'm stuck sitting on the floor waiting for the plane to either be fixed or for them to switch planes...ugggghhh. Sometimes I hate flying. It's even more annoying when there's nobody with me. So, I thought I would complain to whoever looks at my blog today. Well, I don't want to be on the internet for too long because this is an unsecured network (I don't really know what that means, but I'm not going to take any chances on something happening to my new laptop) Oh yea, remind me later to tell you about the drama with my new laptop. Thanks! Talk to you later! Hope everything is going well with you!

!!!!!!!WARNING!!!!!!!!

WELL, I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY. WE HAVE SORT OF BEEN BAD. WELL, NOT REALLY. LET ME JUST EXPLAIN. AT CHURCH, WE HAVE BEEN AVOIDING THE BISHOPRIC TRYING NOT TO GET THE CALLING. WE KNEW IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN AT SOME POINT BUT IT'S KIND OF NICE BEING ABLE TO GO TO ALL OF THE MEETINGS WITHOUT ANY RESPONSIBILITY. ANYWAY, IT HAPPENED. TODAY, WE WERE EATING DINNER AND WE GET A KNOCK ON THE DOOR. GUESS WHO IT WAS, THE FIRST COUNSELOR. HE DIDN'T HAVE OUR NUMBER, SO HE JUST HAD TO SHOW UP. AS SOON AS I SAW HIS FACE, I KNEW WHAT HE WAS THERE FOR. WELL, HE SAID AT FIRST THAT PART OF THE REASON HE WAS THERE WAS TO GET OUR NUMBER, BECAUSE HE DIDN'T HAVE IT. THE SECOND REASON HE WAS THERE WAS TO, GIVE US A CALLING...BIG SURPRISE, HUH!?! ANYWAY, WE ARE IN THE NURSERY TOGETHER. NOW, AS MUCH AS I LOVED MY CALLING IN THE PRIMARY AND SEEING THE KIDS EACH WEEK, I WAS REALLY HOPING THAT I WOULDN'T GET A CALLING IN THE NURSERY/PRIMARY BECAUSE I WAS WANTING TO HAVE TIME TO MEET PEOPLE IN MY NEW WARD. IT ALWAYS SEEMS SO HARD TO MEET PEOPLE WHEN YOU'RE IN THE PRIMARY. BUT I AM EXCITED TO WORK SO CLOSELY WITH KIDS. JOSH IS EXCITED TO PLAY WITH THE TOYS...HE EVEN ASKED THE FIRST COUNSELOR (I DON'T REMEMBER HIS NAME) TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY STILL HAD "PLAY TIME".

I MUST SAY, THE MAJORITY OF OUR MARRIAGE WE HAVE BEEN IN THE PRIMARY TOGETHER. EITHER THE LORD THINKS WE NEED TO BE WITH EACHOTHER MORE OFTEN, OR HE'S GETTING US READY FOR KIDS...LOT OF KIDS. WELL, WHATEVER THE REASON IS, IT'S SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN, RIGHT? WELL, I JUST THOUGHT I WOULD LET EVERYONE KNOW WHAT OUR NEW CALLING WAS.

WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT MEETING NEW KIDS!

So I need your help!

Well, I have really been hating my new job!!!! I really just don't like the atmosphere. Anyway, I was posting my washer and dryer on Craigslist (which I already sold, just in case you were wondering) and I decided to look up jobs. I found a lady that was looking for someone to do her housework/occasional babysitting for $20 an hour. I was really interested, so I emailed her.

Anyway, I met with her today, and she has such a cute family and she was so sweet, so I am even more attached to the thought of getting/having this job. Please pray that this will work out for me.

There will be so many benefits from it. Do you want to know what they are?

  1. I will have more time with my husband, which doesn't happen too often. We usually have the opposite hours, which means we see each other every Sunday and that's pretty much it.
  2. I will have the time to focus on my school work which would be great! Practicing on my machine=graduating school faster, which we all know would be nice.
  3. I will have time to cook! Which I really like to do if I'm not rushed. And I'm sure Josh would appreciate not coming home and eating frozen pizzas every night!
  4. I will get to be around kids, which I love. They have a 4 year old little girl named Abigail and then 16 month twin girls named Celeste and Caroline! They are so cute.
  5. I will get home at a decent hour.
  6. I will get to work in an environment that isn't all about alcohol sales.
  7. I won't have to be around people that are dealing drugs at work...they think I don't know, but I'm not stupid.
  8. I will get to go to the church activities like enrichment night and anything else they throw our way. I don't have a calling yet, but when I get one, I will actually be able to have one that requires time outside of church too, which would be exciting!

These are a few reasons why I really hope it works out! Please pray for it to work out the way it's supposed to! Thank you so much!

Really!?! Sometimes I just LOVE being a girl ;)

So, I pretty much had my most embarassing moment today. Well, I don't really know if it would be considered that embarassing, it's more of just a funny story today. Either way, here it goes:

So, I'm standing at a table today greeting them. I say, "hello, my name is Brooke. I will be taking care of you today." Now, I am saying that while I am reaching in my pocket so I can get my pen out to write down their drink order. Little did I know what was going to happen next. I pull out a pen, and what flies out of my pocket...yes, you guessed it! A TAMPON. Now, this is not any ordinary tampon. I always carry a tampon in my apron just in case I need it, or someone else needs it. I buy those "travel size" ones so that I don't have to have a huge one in my pocket. Well, the ones that I have are in a green wrapper, and the tampon itself is also green. Well, it wouldn't have been so embarassing if it would have come out in the wrapper, but the stupid tampon decided it would be funny to jump out of my pocket without a wrapper on...how does that happen? How does a tampon just all of a sudden decide to unwrap, and then on top of that, jump out of your pocket?

Anyway, I thought you guys would get a hoot out of that. You'll probably also get a hoot out of me saying "get a hoot". Hope everyone's doing well!

P.S. What does it say when I open up the tampax website?
TAMPAX-MADE TO GO UNNOTICED.
Really? because I will beg to differ!

I got tagged...thanks Tonia!

3 Joys:
My husband
The Gospel
Teancum...my cat...even though he has been missing for the last week and a half...I am soooooo sad, but when he's around, he brings me and Josh so much joy. He's like our kid...I miss him.

3 Fears:
Just like Tonia, becoming a widow
Spiders
Not being able to start a family.

3 Obsessions/Collections:
Skirts
Pots (Josh and I have a collection of them from different parts of the world.)
Decorating my house

3 Surprising Facts:
So, I'm pretty much the exact opposite of Tonia with this one, but I only shave my legs once a week, on Sunday morning, since I am going to be wearing a skirt. My poor husband.
Josh and I knew each other for two weeks before we said I love you, and then we were engaged 2 months later, and then married 6 months after that!
I love melting chocolate chips in the microwave and then eating it with a spoon...am I weird?

Okay, Camie, Erin, and Tracie, go!
