So, I am using my parents computer to download my pictures because, like I said, my computer is stupid. It just refuses to work. I don't understand. Anyway, enough of my complaining.
Well, I called the builder today to tell him about some of the things we noticed in the house yesterday, and guess what!?! Well, let me tell you the conversation first:
Brooke: Hi John, this is Brooke Liddell, how are you?
John (the builder): I am good, Brooke. How are you?
Brooke: I am good. Umm, I was just calling to let you know that both of the upstairs bedrooms are supposed to have ceiling fans in them, and when we went in there yesterday, they had only put lights in there.
John: Oh, okay I will definately get that fixed.
Brooke: Okay, thanks. I just thought I would let you know. Also, there is one more thing. In the third bedroom, you know how we added the phone hookup and also the cable hookup?
John: Yes.
Brooke: Well, they put them on the wrong walls, so those will need to be changed.
John: (with annoyance in his voice, although I don't know why because we specifically showed him where we wanted them) uh, okay. I will get that fixed too.
Brooke: Okay, thank you. That's all I wanted to let you know.
John: Okay, thank you. Oh, wait. Did you get my message?
Brooke: No. Not that I know of unless Josh got it.
John: Oh, well your backsplash tile for your kitchen will not be in until May 22nd. Apparently it is coming from outside of the country. I don't know what you guys picked, but it must be some nice stuff.
Brooke: May 22nd??????? Aren't we supposed to be closing May 23rd.
John: Yes, that is why I called you. We are going to have to move it to probably the 28th. If that's all right with you.
Brooke: Sure, that's fine.
Okay, now what am I supposed say? No I refuse. We will just live with no backsplash? Anyway, so that's the BIG SURPRISE! (hint: sarcasm) I mean, how many times have they moved the date already? First it was the end of March, then the end of April, and then May 23rd, and now May 28th. Not only am I annoyed, but I'm sure my parents are. Oh well, it will be worth the wait. So, Jan, we will for sure be in the primary till the end of the month, which I don't mind because I love my kids! I will definately miss them!
Okay, so here are the updated pictures: Enjoy Okay, so here is our shower in the master bathroom (it's sideways, sorry) This is the tile before it had the grout.
The same tile in the master bathroom and then also the cabinets in there as well.
Here's the stairs leading from our patio to our garage.
Here's the front of the house, they are putting all of the dirt down! It looks way better than all that trash, that's for sure.
Here's the stair railing. It is now stained.
This is our loft upstairs. It looks over to the living room, downstairs. We are eventually going to have a desk here with all of my work stuff. (I guess I'm getting a little ahead of myself. We haven't even closed yet. What am I saying, they haven't even finished yet!)
This is the master bedroom. ( I know it's not that big, but it's mine!)
Upstairs bathroom...we were there when the workers were there, they were getting ready to grout the tile.
Here are the cabinets in the kitchen. They are all hung.
Here is the archway that they have to add because they randomly forgot to put it in...weird.
Here's one of our closets (sideways, again, I'm sorry)
This picture is sideways too, but they had to cut out a huge part of drywall because they messed up on the placement of our plugs and cable. It's fixed right now, but now they have to get the drywall back up and make it look like that never happened. Can they do it? We'll find out.
Okay, so there's all of the pictures that you have been missing out on, well not all of them, but there are the good ones. Now I have to tell you a really sad story...sometimes my husband looks like this:
Okay, I'm just kidding, that's not the sad story, this story really is sad. Actually, I don't know if sad is the right word. It's more like a "who could do that" kind of a story. So, we were walking through one of the other houses on our street that is a little bit ahead of ours and we turned around in the living room and were totally shocked at what we saw. Here it is, brace yourself. (Oh, and picture this flipped up the right way because I don't know how to flip the pictures)
Yes, that is a dead bird, that somebody hung on wires sticking out of a wall. I didn't take the picture so that I could post it on the blog, but I took a picture so I could be a tattle tale and show the Legacy Homes lady. She was just as annoyed as I was. Now, I know that there's not really anything that they can do, but seriously? Who does that? Anyway, sorry I had to end my post in such a depressing manner.
I hope you all have a good day! And sorry this post is really long.

the house is looking good!! Sorry they keep pushinf the date back...I hope it goes smoothly from here. How big is it?
Ew, that poor little bird!! And I love, love, love the pictures -- your house is going to be SO nice. I have to say that Selfish Me is glad you'll be here through the end of the month and Nice Me (a smaller part of me, I'm afraid) is sad for you that they keep screwing around with your house. Sigh.
that is just about the most morbid thing I've ever seen in my life, but I have to admit, I kind of laughed when I saw that bird!! ha! is that mean?!! Oh man! Anyways, I was thinkin that I would come visit you guys in November, because that's probably when your house will be done! jk! What the heck? Brooke, if I was your homebuilder and you called me upset your house wasn't done, you know that I would get it done! HOpe everything goes well!
I saw you told my sis how big your house is and said you would have to buy another one when you have a baby...you can totally survive in that house with a baby. We're squeezing in this tiny apartment. Your house is huge compared to our apartment. Besides, I thought that was one reason you got the third bedroom. Anyways, it's all looking so good. I'm excited for you guys. You'll be moving in some day, or year... =) It will all work out.
Brooke, I la la love your house!!! It is so cute. That sucks they keep pushing the date back :( Ecept you'll be in our ward longer--yay!! :) Our house was the same way--they kept screwing up so many things. Oh well, it will be exciting when it is finished!! And seriously, who does that to a bird? What a sicko!
