I'm a very rude wife but excited for my sister!

Well, tomorrow I'm headed here, which is Windsor, CO, to see my sister, which is going to be totally awesome! The only thing is that..........................I'm leaving my husband for Thanksgiving. I know you have to be wondering what could possibly be so great about her sister that she's leaving her husband to survive Thanksgiving with the in-laws. Well, it really is worth it. My sister is going to the temple for the first time the Saturday after Thanksgiving! I am so excited about and so happy for her! So, I was going to go right after Thanksgiving, but me and Josh talked about it and decided that if we're going to spend money on the plane ticket, I might as well get as much time as I can in with her family. So, that's the reasoning behind my rudeness. I really do feel bad that I'm leaving him but he doesn't really seem to be the affected by it. I think as long as he is getting the food, he'll be fine. He's got my mom's mashed potatoes to hold him over until I get back, so he should be fine! Anyway, I'm so excited to see their whole famly.

We saw them in December when they came up for Brad's farewell to his mission in Peru, but that was the last time I saw them. I haven't been out to Colorado though since April of 2006. So it should be fun.

The worst part about this trip though is that I have to get up tomorrow at 4 am because my flight leaves at 630. I figure it will take me about an hour in the morning to get ready, and then I can leave at about 5 and get to the airport at about 530. Then I can sleep the rest of the way. Anyway, that's going to be my Thanksgiving.

What are you doing for Thanksgiving?

I'm pretty much a pro!

So, we've been looking for a desk lately and some bookshelves for our upstairs loft area. I can't believe how expensive they are! So, we bought an antique desk from somebody on craigslist and I absolutely love it! We just have to sand and paint it now. And then my dad gave us twoo bookshelves, so we saved a lot of money!!!!!!! That's always a plus. Here we are sanding them. Let me just explain that I am really bad at sanding, but I posed for the pictures anyway! Here we are being nerds.

I thought I would throw a random picture of the dogs up. Whenever they fetch their little weiner dog toy, they think it's fun to use teamwork to get it back to us.
Here's a picture of the trailer lift that Josh built in our garage. Normally my car is parked right under it, but this is where we are in the process of sanding everything.

My cute little handyman! He's such a hard worker. More than I can say for myself. I'm just a complainer.

Here's the desk. It's all taken apart right here, but I can't wait to show you the finished product. Hopefully that will be soon!

Here's the latest.

I know I've been horrible lately about updating my blog...we just don't really have an exciting life. Anyway, this is the latest:

My mom's birthday was November 7th and we went to Texas Roadhouse to celebrate. Here she is on the saddle. She pretty much hated us for telling them it was her birthday. I thought it was funny.

And this is what me and Josh got for her. I actually made it. Don't be too envious of my abilities...it was just a transfer.

Then, this last weekend, we went to our friends Hillary and Derek's engagement party. Congrats go out to them! We love them, they are so much fun. We went to Dave and Buster's. It was so much fun! We just played games the whole time. I won the air hockey, like I always do! That was fun!

After Dave and Buster's we went to their house to play games. I am REALLY bad at guesstures! Anyway, it was a fun night!

My parents went to California for two days, and so I stayed with Brandon and so I took the dogs with me. They aren't outside a whole lot at our house because we don't have a fence, so I let them just hang outside for a while. They're so cute.

I really want to live in Utah!

Let me list the reasons why I want to live in Utah, and then I will explain.

  • There's sooooo many cute winter clothes that I want, but I can't seem to justify buying them with Josh because, and I quote, "it's not cold enough in Texas for any of that."

  • We have sooooooo many friends in Utah and Camie and Juan are supposedly going to be moving there as well...at some point.

  • Josh's family is there.

  • I would be closer to both of my sisters and maybe we could actually get together. I can't remember the last time we hung out together, just the three of us, that would be fun.

  • There's a house that I really want to live in. Josh's family calls it the Goshen house, but his great grandpa, I think, built it in 1901. I really want to buy it and fix it up! I think it would be so fun! Once I can find the picture of it on my computer, I will add it.

  • We would most likely be able to attend a young ward. Now, don't get me wrong, I really do like my ward, but we just don't have any friends here. Well, we do have a few, but they live all the way in North Austin. I hardly know anybody in my ward because we were put into nursery right away.

Okay, that's all I can think of right now. But, it will for sure be a few years before we move to Texas. The one thing that would make it better would be if my family would follow me there! That would be awesome. I never wanted to marry somebody who had a family somewhere different than mine, because I've seen with my sisters that it kind of sucks not having them around. I've always wished that both families would live in the same city, or at least same state. Oh well, what can you do? I really would like to win a shopping spree so that I can get all of these...I need a new wardrobe. Here's what I've been eyeing lately.
