cheater X 2

Okay, so I decided that I needed to go back and take pictures of the house today, so I did! Here they are:

Do you see the railing getting started on this one? This is what I have been having you vote on. Do you like the color of it in the picture against our house color?

I CHEATED!

Okay, so I'm a big nerd and couldn't wait a whole week to look at our house...so I went today. Oh my gosh! It already has cabinets in and the stair railing is in. Also, the wood railing is started for around the patio (the thing you have been voting on) but I don't have any pictures of it because I went after school. So, you'll still have to wait at least until Sunday before you can see it. Sorry. Don't feel bad though because Josh hasn't seen any of it either.

Well, me and Josh decided that we're not going to paint or stain the wood. We are just going to have them seal the wood like it is. The only reason I didn't want to stain it is because I thought that a dark or darker wood would look funny against such a light house, but when I went by today, I noticed that the wood that is on it is really a pretty light wood, so I called Josh to see if we could just leave it the way it was and he said that he would call them and have them just seal it instead of stain it. So, I think that's what we're going to do. I don't know, we'll see. But keep voting anyway! Thanks.

IT HAS WALLS!

So, we went down to the house today and...there were walls up! The sheet rock was in! We are so excited! I think I am more excited than Josh is. He is starting to really get nervous and wonder what he is getting himself into...not me, I am just excited to have a house! They did mess up on a few things though. Just two. The second bedroom upstairs is going to be the media room and we are going to be mounting a TV on the wall. Well, we had already planned on that and so we had asked them to put an outlet and also the cable outlet thing 4 feet high. Well, they put two outlets 4 feet high and left the cable one down low...are they stupid? Oh well, it could be worse. They will be able to fix it easily Josh says. I just hope that you can't tell. Anyway, my mom went down with us because she hadn't been down there yet. She was always busy at work or taking care of other things, but now that tax season is over, she has a little more time. They also finished our sidewalk out front. They didn't do the stairs down from the patio though in the back yard. I'm sure it will be done next week or the week after. I just wanted to have walls in my house, so I'm excited! So, I need your opinion. They are putting railing up on the back patio because it is so high, and they asked us if we wanted to just stain it, or have it painted to match the house. Josh wants it stained, and I want it painted. Don't get me wrong, I like stained wood, I just think it will look funny against the colors of the house that we got. I don't know, we need your help. That will be one of the last things that they do though, so we still have a little bit of time before we have to worry about that. I'm going to put up a poll though. Let me know! Thanks!

I was looking through the door to see if my walls were up. The door was locked so Josh had to walk around and unlock it. I don't know why it was locked because they don't even have the backdoor in, so anybody can just walk in anyway...I don't understand.

The picture above is our bedroom.

The picture above is our living room/dining room looking into our kitchen.

Through that hole in the wall is our kitchen.

This is our living room looking out from the kitchen.

This is our living room looking toward our stairs. And that little doorway is our powder room. Isn't that cute? we have a powder room.

Our room again in the picture above. And the picture underneath is our master bathroom downstairs. Yes, it is kind of small. But that's not the whole thing. That's just where the shower is going to be.

Brad's Mission: Peru, Piura Mission

We were so excited yesterday. We finally recieved some pictures from Brad's mission in his email that he sent...it's only been about 4 months since we've seen any kind of picture. Anyway, here they are. I don't really know where he is in any of them or anything because he didn't really give the explanation behind each one, he just sent them, but we enjoyed them just the same! Hope you do, too!

I am so proud of him! He looks and sounds like he's doing great!

House Updates/Drama

Well, some good news and some bad news! I'll start with the bad news.

BAD NEWS:

I have been calling our loan officer a lot lately making sure that she recieved the things that I have been mailing her, but she hasn't been calling me back. Well, yesterday Josh was home, so we found the Allied Home Mortgage Co.'s number and called and asked for Brandy Gibbs. They said, "Oh, she no longer works for the company..." so Josh repeated it just to make sure that we heard it correctly, and sure enough, we did! No wonder we haven't been getting any calls back. Can you believe that? So, the first thing I did was called my sister (she works very closely with the President of Allied) and she just happened to be sitting with him. Luckily he said that he knew that she no longer worked for the company and he told us he couldn't remember the name of the person who was now working on it. Well, about 20 minutes later or so, we got a call from the new person working on our loan. I'm very thankful that we were able to get it figured out so quickly, but seriously! What would have happened if we hadn't have called? Would our loan papers and stuff just fallen through the cracks and been forgotten? Shoot me! It was very frustrating, but it is supposedly all taken care of!

Good News:

Well, on Sunday we went and looked at the house and guess what! It actually looked different! Progress! I haven't seen that in a while. Well, it wasn't a lot, but still...progress! They had the insulation installed (basically just pushed into the walls). But we finally had our sheetrock meeting that I have been talking about forever, yesterday! It was just basically to make sure that all of the outlets were in the right place and that the wiring was correct (not that I know any of that, but Josh does). They told us that they are going to be hanging the sheet rock today! We told them that we go down every Sunday just to check it out. So this is what they told us: They said that the next time we come down, the sheet rock will be finished and also that the texture part of the walls will be done! Oh my gosh! It's actually going to look like a house this Sunday! So, naturally, I am counting down the days! Then, on top of that news, they told us that they Sunday after that (so in two Sundays) the walls will be painted, the cabinets will be hung, and the tile will be down...how exciting! Anyway, that's my good news! Now we'll just see if they stick to that time schedule because as I have learned, they don't always stay on track...

I have pictures of the insulation and stuff. I will get them posted when I get home from work!

P.S. Did you know sheet rock and drywall are the same thing!?! I didn't. Josh won't quit laughing at me...am I alone on this?

Tagged...again!

These are the rules: You must post the rules before you give your answers. You must list one fact about yourself for each letter of your middle name. Each fact must begin with that letter. If you don't have a middle name, just use your maiden name. After you've been tagged, you need to update your blog with your middle name and answers. At the end of your post, you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name. Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged and need to read your blog for details.

T: Tired of going to school...can't wait till it's over!
A: Always happy to see my husband!
Y: Young...this was a hard one, but I am pretty young, I guess!
L: Loving
O: Odd (Josh would agree with me on that one)
R: Random (I make very random comments all the time)

Erin, Tonia, Camie, Tenille, and Brooke. Go!

I was tagged!

I hate spiders.

Okay, so pretty much let me explain how my day went yesterday. I started off the morning around 2:30 am with a sore throat. So, in order for me to get some kind of sleep, I had to get me a drink of water. I pretty much didn't get any sleep after that. Not only because of my sore throat but also because of my nose...you know how when you're sick, you have a really stuffed up nose but at the same time, it runs like crazy. It was very frustrating. I couldn't breathe out of my nose because it was so stuffed up but when it would start running, I couldn't seem to get tissue in time and it would just drip out...GROSS! I know. Anyway, that morning I got up and took two ALEVE because I had really bad cramps and then right before I went to work, I took a CLARITIN-D so that I wouldn't be totally horrible at work. Well, let me just say right now that that didn't work at all. I got to work and everybody could tell I wasn't feeling good. They said the infamous words, "you look tired," which you know basically means, "you look like crap." Anyway, so when I get to work, I found out that I was going to be training one of the new guys which I wasn't very excited about because I felt like crap. So, I met him and I told him right away that I had allergies really bad and to excuse me if I was sneezing a lot and stuff. So, I started training him, poor guy. As soon as he started following me around, I really started getting bad. I swear I sneezed like 20 times in a row. I kept trying to explain to him that I wasn't normally this gross but I don't know if he believed me. Oh well, nothing I can do. So we were almost done with work and I was walking and talking to him explaining what sidework was ours and all of a sudden I felt something hit my tongue, so I started coughing and I took it out with finger...it was a bug, like a little gnat it had flown straight into my mouth...it still makes me sick thinking about it. Once I saw it, I pretty much almost started crying (did I mention I really hate bugs!) so I just said, "excuse me, I need to go to the bathroom and blow my nose." Like I said, poor guy. He probably wants to quit. So, that was my day at work. It was disasterous.

So, I got home and ate dinner and then went to bed at around 9:30 so that I could get some rest. Well, I woke up around 11:30 because my throat was really hurting. So, I went downstairs and was talking to my mom. Okay, picture this. My mom is on one couch and I am on the other. My mom is talking to me and all of a sudden, I see something out of the corner of my crawling on the tile...so, I sort of screamed and I said to my mom, "pick up your feet, pick up your feet!" because my mom's feet were on the floor and the spider was crawling straight toward them. So, anyway. we looked at it for a while and then my mom hit it with my dad's shoe. So, we were looking at it and I decided to get the camera so I could show you how big the spider is. So, here it goes, here is the video of the spider. Mind you, you know once you kill a spider they curl up. Well, the spider is all curled up now and it looks really small, but don't be fooled! Let me just explain something too! We were REALLY, REALLY tired. It was about 12:30 when this was going on.

I am really surprised with all of the screaming that we didn't wake anyone up. But, we did have a funeral for him. My mom took him to the toilet to flush him down so we didn't have to worry about him coming back to life again. The first time she flushed, it didn't go down. But here is the second attempt of the funeral.

Yep, that was my day. Pretty weird day! Here's a few extra pictures of the spider.
